STOMP OUT STIGMA

Google the word ‘stigma’.

  1.  A mark of disgrace associated with a particular circumstance, quality, or person.
  2. A mark of disgrace or dishonor.
  3. A strong feeling of disapproval that most people in a society have about something.

Wow. No wonder so many people feel alone & isolated & never get connected to the assistance they need.

Take a second & think about that.

How can we ever expect lives to be changed & people to get help when we make them feel like they need to figure this out on their own. Like until they ‘get it together’ they cannot be around ‘clean’ folks.

It is time for us to talk. Time for us to love one another & encourage every single person we come into contact with. Tell them they are not alone. They are not a disgrace. They are important & they are loved no matter what they have done, are doing, or will do.

Encourage them to seek help & if they are not ready, just be there for them. Someday they may be ready. Our only job is to be there when they are.

Just remember, if they feel like they can’t talk about what they are going through, then they can never be connected to the help they need.

Stomp. Out. Stigma.
